We didn't have pupils with autism in our classes just 20 years ago. Today, however, we educate children with high-functioning autism and Asperger's Syndrome alongside their neurotypical peers. Understanding how their minds are built, assisting them in turning problems into opportunities, and learning to appreciate the rich perspective they offer to the classroom all necessitate a careful balancing act.
You'll enjoy the lessons ahead if you've ever had a kid who blurted out in class, yelled when someone patted his or her shoulder, or rocked back and forth in the chair. We will study about the neurology of these diseases and how it impacts kids' behaviour, learning, and thinking. Most importantly, you'll learn innovative, low-cost techniques for assisting these children in the classroom and beyond.
