COVID-19

At Clemson Academy, our students', faculty's, and community's health and well-being remain our top priorities. We recognise the continued worries and challenges that the COVID-19 outbreak posed when it broke out during March, 2020. Even though the impact of the pandemic has lessened now, it is still devisable to carry out preventative measures against it. This is why we have highlighted our main policies and measures regarding the virus.

We strictly follow the recommendations of local, national, and worldwide health organizations, such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our policies and processes are evaluated and modified on a regular basis to ensure that they are in line with the most recent recommendations for preventing the spread of Covid-19.

We recognise that the situation around the pandemic can shift quickly. As a result, we are committed to providing students and employees with timely updates. We use a variety of communication channels, such as email, website updates, and social media, to keep everyone up to date on any changes to our COVID-19 policy, guidelines, or activities.

Current policies and status

Below are the defined policies and protocols pertaining to COVID 19 at Clemson Academy:

Face Masks

We recommend students to wear masks during indoor settings, especially ones that are crowded. Classrooms no longer need the use of face masks. However, specific teachers can decide to make masks a requirement for their classrooms. Students should be alerted in advance via email and Canvas, the university's learning management system, by instructors who demand masking.

Vaccination

In compliance with federal regulations, vaccination restrictions will continue to apply to students and personnel who work or rotate in Clemson Academy medical facilities. Visit the immunisations page for the most recent details on COVID-19 immunisations and boosters, including where to get them.

Testing

There is no longer a need for asymptomatic monitoring testing, regardless of vaccination status. Faculty, staff, and postdocs will no longer be able to use color testing. Students will still have access to color testing up to June 18, 2023. At campus sites, faculty, employees, postdocs, and students have free access to rapid antigen tests. Click here for additional details.

Health Check

COVID-positive faculty, employees, and postdocs are expected to self-report their health status in HealthCheck. This page has been updated with advice for teachers, staff, and postdocs who are displaying COVID-like symptoms or who have been in close proximity to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Travel

Clemson Academy advises international travelers to test themselves using a fast COVID test on day 0, but does not mandate it. Travelers who have symptoms of disease should conceal themselves until day 5, when they receive a negative quick COVID test. The Student Affairs Travel & Return Testing Guide should be read by students who are traveling or arriving back on campus. You can find more travel-related information here.
